Kamakura Museum of Literature

This is a museum of literal works connected to the city of Kamakura, and is not to be missed by lovers of literature interested in connections between literature and Kamakura. The museum building was once a second house of the Maeda family, one-time powerful feudal lords, and was donated to the city in 1983. It opened as Bungakukan in 1985. This building is designated as an important architectural structure because it features rare examples of Western architecture imported in the early Showa period. It registered with the registration tangible cultural properties of a country in 2000.The museum is closed on Mondays and during the year-end holidays, arrangement period specially, Exhibition substitute period.


The view of Yuigahama beach from here is magnificent, Komaki Omi "those who plants seeds" monument.
