Kousokuji Temple

This temple was founded in 1279 by Sakua Shonin upon being converted from the Shingon to the Jishu Buddhist sect. The wooden statue of Amida Nyorai in its main sanctuary has a brand on its cheek. In legend it was for a priest who was suspected of theft. This statue is usually closed to the public.
