Kosokuji Temple

This temple was founded by Nichiren's pupil Nichirou where the residence of Hojo Tokiyori's close associate (Yadoya Mitsunori) once stood. The temple is famous as the place where Nichiren presented his book "Rissho Ankokuron" to the Kamakura government in 1260. The premises of the temple are filled with flowers throughout the year. A 150-year-old aronia tree, which is in full bloom in early April, is especially beautiful. Kamakura Goddess of Mercy No.7 / 33. Kamakura Ksitigarbha No.5/ 24.
