Kuhonji Temple

The warrior Nitta Yoshisada set up his headquarters here to attack the Kamakura government. Kuhonji, a Jodo Buddhist temple, was reportedly constructed in 1337 by Yoshisada for the souls of dead Hojo warriors. The main sanctuary houses tablets with calligraphic characters reportedly in Yoshisada'swriting. The votive tablets on the temple's gate and main sanctuary are reportedly their duplicates.
