Renjoin Temple

This is also a sub-temple of Komyoji, but one which existed before Komyoji was constructed. Ryochu, the founder of Komyoji, reportedly stayed here to supervise construction of Komyoji. It is still the custom for a new head priest of Komyoji to enter Renjoin first before entering Komyoji's main building. Kamakura Goddess of Mercy No.19 / 33.


ü Tourist attractions include Gotenjo, or coffered ceilings and Ita-fusumae, or wooden sliding doors with decorative pictures.
