Rokkaku-no-i
This is one of Kamakura's ten famous wells. Although the Rokkaku, or six angles, well is made of stones piled octagonally, six sides of the octagonal well were reportedly used for the Kamakura area, and the other two for another area. This well is also called Ya-no-ne (arrow's root), according to the legend that an arrow shot by Minamoto Tametomo, aiming at Tenshozan from Izu Oshima, fell into this well, and its arrowhead in a bamboo pipestill remains there.
